News: MSU Land Policy Institute in collaboration with the Ingham County Treasurer updates their study of the "Economic Impacts of the Tax Foreclosure Auctions in Ingham
County."

An initial study looking at the impacts of the tax auction in Ingham County was done in 2015 in order to examin the relationship between the auction property sales, renovations, and property prices in Ingham County. With an additional 4 years of information we decided to partner with the MSU Land Policy Institute to update the study and take a deeper look at the long-term intended and unitended consequenes of the tax auction over an eleven-year span.  About the Ingham County Auctions

The Ingham County Treasurer holds two auctions every year to sell properties that have been foreclosed upon for unpaid property taxes. Properties sold by the Treasurer are typically blighted and in need of repair.

Through the auctions we are looking for investors or motivated individuals who are capable of rehabbing these properties for the benefit of the individual, neighborhoods, and County at large. We invite interested parties to attend the auctions or auction Q&A sessions to ask questions and meet other people who have gone through the process.

We welcome the public to get involved to improve the neighborhood, improve the community, and improve the county!
